Overview

The workshop consists of testing the clays of the sector and modeling typical figures with Fernando Alfaro, National-Prize-winning, Professor in Plastic Arts at the University of Chile, creator of the Amerindian Ceramics Workshop in San Pedro de Atacama. He has developed his profession as a teacher and potter throughout the country. He dedicates his time to the study of ceramics and techniques, especially those used by the Lickanantai, who are the original people of San Pedro de Atacama from more than 1500 years ago. Its cultural recovery can be observed in the pieces that are reproduced with this ancient art, including pottery, tablets for hallucinogens, and musical instruments which will also show the changes in these pieces with the passage of time.
